How Loofta Reduced Churn by 13% with Megapot

Loofta cut churn by 13%: the pay.loofta.xyz app showing a $1,100,000 prize pool

Loofta put a shot at $1M+ in prizes at the moment users were about to leave. One in five took it, and two-thirds of them came back.

TL;DR

  • 13% lower churn: A shot at a headline prize retained more than one in ten users who would otherwise have churned.
  • 20% activation: One in five users chose to enter the Megapot prize draw when cashing out.
  • 66% came back: Two-thirds of those users returned to Loofta.

Withdrawal Was Loofta's Churn Point

Loofta is a social payments app where users send money, get paid and withdraw their balance.

But cashing out was often the end of the user journey. Once users received their money, there was little reason to reopen the app.

Loofta wanted to change what happened at that moment.

The Solution: A Shot at $1M+ Before Users Leave

At cash-out, Loofta gives users the option to enter Megapot for a chance to win $1M+ in prizes.

Loofta doesn't need to fund or operate the headline prize. Megapot provides the prize infrastructure, while Loofta controls how the experience appears in its product.

"On a payments app, people get paid and leave. So we put a shot at $1.1M right at the exit. Twenty percent take it, and most come back for another."

Lisa Bechina, founder of Loofta

The Result: 13% Lower Churn

20% of users took the offer. When presented with Megapot at cash-out, one in five chose to enter.

66% of them came back. Two-thirds of users who entered returned to Loofta.

Overall churn fell 13%. Loofta retained 13% of users who otherwise would have left after cashing out.

The integration also became net positive for Loofta, with Megapot revenue now helping fund its wider community giveaways.

Live in One Day

Loofta completed its initial Megapot integration in approximately one day.

By pointing its AI coding tools to llms.megapot.io, the team had the integration information needed to start building immediately.

Loofta is now exploring additional Megapot experiences, including Solana Mobile, the Solana dApp Store and ticket gifting across other apps and social platforms.

The Playbook for Other Apps

Invite to win, deposit to win, swap to win, and sign up to win, all tied to a $1M prize

Loofta used Megapot at withdrawal, but the same mechanic can be attached to other high-value actions or drop-off points:

  • Deposits and first payments
  • Referrals
  • Feature activation
  • Returning transactions
  • Withdrawals and cash-outs
  • Creator payouts
  • Reward claims

Instead of funding the headline prize yourself, Megapot lets you attach $1M+ in potential upside to the actions you want users to take.
