What is my expected value?

Your EV is always positive, since you earn 20% to 30% fees from every ticket sold. After fees, the drawing is neutral EV.

Does this have impermanent loss?

No, since LPs are not exposed to price fluctuations.

When can I edit or withdraw my position?

Anytime. Changes take effect after the current jackpot drawing ends.

How do LP mechanics work?

In AMMs like Uniswap, LPs market make swaps and take 0.3% fees. Megapot lets LPs market make long-shot odds and take up to 30% fees on every ticket sold.

Every morning, LPs pool funds together to pre-buy tickets, then resell tickets to players with added fees. At the end of the day, a winner is either a player who wins the entire jackpot, or LPs collectively who win players' entries. These outcomes combine to be neutral expected value.

To enable passive LPing, LPs can set a % of their position to be in range, or used for the jackpot, and their positions rebalance daily.

Why is the liquidity pool closed?

We are partnering with LPs for the long run. We're still early and yield can sometimes be low. We're grateful to our LPs for taking on variance to ensure our jackpot stays large and exciting.

When volume grows and yield skyrockets, we want those LPs to earn well as a reward for their support. If our liquidity pool was always open, an opportunistic whale could deposit a large amount and reduce yield for everyone.
